Activision Blizzard has lost another important executive right before the huge acquisition deal with Microsoft. Frances Townsend decided to step down and continue her duty as an advisor to the board and CEO Bobby Kotick.

Townsend was criticized for her actions following the news of sexual harassment lawsuit against Activision Blizzard. She mentioned that the allegations were “distorted” and “false”, and also she tweeted a link to an article called “The Problem With Whistleblowing” on her personal social media account. After some time, she left her position as an executive sponsor of the ABK Women’s Network.

Before she decided to step down, Townsend also worked as the executive vice president of corporate affairs for two years. Her role will be filled by Jen Brewer and Luci Altman. Prior to her role in Activision Blizzard, Townsend was also a counter-terrorism advisor to White House during the George W. Bush era and a general council for MacAndrews & Forbes.
