Age of Empires is also turning 25 this year, a huge franchise in the Real-Time Strategy genre since two and a half decades. Microsoft has some plans for the series, and this time some of those plans do not include PC or consoles.
Age of Empires Mobile is announced by Microsoft with a brief teaser, hinting a 2023 release. Currently there is no other information or footage, so we will have to wait to see what we can expect from this game. This is not the first mobile attempt of Age of Empires though, as there were two short-lived games back in 2015. One of them was called Age of Empires: Castle Siege and the other Age of Empires: World Domination. Unfortunately the former was shut down after four years, and the latter just one.
Microsoft is known to have plans for mobile game market, especially after the acquisition of Activision Blizzard. It is inevitable that we have our doubts after those two shutdowns mentioned above, but this time they might come stronger with their attempt.
