Alan Wake was initially an Xbox 360 exclusive. Game came back to the creator company, Remedy Entertainment, after Microsoft decided not to fund a sequel. Since then, hints from Remedy were occasionally coming that the franchise still had the potential to come back, therefore bringing rumors of a possible sequel. Now, we’ve got a glimpse of the first possible Alan Wake project for a long while, and apparently the game is also heading to PlayStation for the first time.

A Twitter user named Wario64 mentioned that Alan Wake Remastered was there on Rakuten Taiwan, even with an October 5 launch date. Wario64 discovered store listings for Xbox, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Chances are, PC will also be seeing this new title.

Alan Wake tells the story a person called Alan (kind of obvious), a writer who travels to the Pacific North West in America to find inspiration for his next novel. While in Bright Falls, Alan discovers a mysterious force in the town, turning the residents into shady and psychotic reflections of their former selves. Even worse, everything Alan Wake writes seems to be coming true, except he can’t remember writing the events that create the strange disaster.

In Alan Wake, players use light sources to fight and defeat enemies. First game had very impressive lighting effects for its time, complete with Remedy’s great writing and gunplay. With Alan Wake Remastered, hopefully we will see a comeback for the series. The recent rumors about the game Remedy Entertainment is working on with Epic Games might be Alan Wake 2.
