Former Hearthstone director August Dean Ayala recently announced that he has left Blizzard on 16th of September. Working in different positions for 11 years, he was an important name for Blizzard and Hearthstone.
After leaving Blizzard, Ayala is beginning his new position as the design director for League of Legends. While the games and the genres are quite different than each other, his broad interest in various games make it possible for him to adapt and continue his journey.
Ayala began his career in Blizzard after ranking top for North America Hearthstone competitive ladder. His deeds landed him a quality assurance position, and then he moved up with further experience he accumulated during those years.
Last few years were quite difficult for both Blizzard and Riot, as they lost a lot of high-profile directors due to various reasons. These changes are surely expected, and we will see how it will result in a few years.
