Cheating is a true nightmare on the gaming scene ever since the games existed, and video games are just getting worse due to the possibilities provided by technology. Infinity Ward just started Modern Warfare 2 beta testing but cheaters are already there, ruining people’s games with no remorse at all.
Developers are already aware of the problem and they announced publicly that they will be taking live action against all cheaters caught during beta. It is truly disappointing that wallhacks and aimbots are widely used in beta already. This tells a lot when it comes to the full release.
Players are already fed up with these cheaters and their actions, so Infinity Ward has a tough nut to crack here. The first day of beta had 150.000 peak concurrent player count, which is decreasing slowly. This might not be due to cheating completely, but eventually it will be much worse if developers are not successful with their anti-cheat systems as the game will be ruined after all the time we have waited for it.
