LMGs in Call of Duty: Warzone may receive buffs soon

In most games, LMGs are a weapon class that either stays underpowered or loses the identity by turning into some sort of larger magazine assault rifles. Warzone is not an exception to this, as current meta is revolving around Assault Rifles and SMGs while LMGs are almost not used at all.

In reality, LMGs have their own use in different situations. One great example is suppression fire where your squad needs some pressure on the close quarters encounters so they can execute vital tactical maneuvers. They are also remarkably powerful as long as the inherent lack of mobility does not put you in a disadvantage. There is no such thing as running into the crosshairs of an LMG barrage and surviving. Raven Software is aware of this, and they are aiming to bring back the identity and viability for the weapon class.

Players are always happy to have a viable weapon variety since any sort of “meta” just makes the game boring. With multiple weapon classes being viable at the same level more or less, it allows players to utilize their own tactical decisions to gain the advantage thanks to their skill and experience. This makes the victory well-deserved, as players know that it is not the overpowered weapon that wins the battle but their own true success.
