Blizzard Entertainment is giving players a free BattleTag name change after Overwatch’s McCree hero was renamed Cole Cassidy.
The offer is valid for all players from October 22, 2021 to November 5, 2021. Anyone who does not currently have a free name change will be able to take advantage of the offer and existing name changes will not be stackable for future use.
Meanwhile, McCree’s name has been changed to Cole Cassidy due to the lawsuit Activision Blizzard is currently facing involving allegations of sexual harassment, discrimination and other actions.
McCree was the name of the developer Jesse McCree involved in this lawsuit. He left the company after the lawsuit started.
