Overwatch 2 beta phase will start on April 26th, and fans are eagerly counting down days. To help them calm their curiosity a bit, developers arranged a livestream on 18th of March to reveal some details for what players can expect.

The details mentioned were about hero balancement, meta development, Doomfist’s role as a tank and more. Lead Hero Designer Geoff Goodman explained that “For Doomfist, probably one of the biggest reworks is switching roles, he’s a tank now. I was really scared on what feedback we were going to get because it’s so different. From what we’ve got so far from dedicated Doomfist players, they’re generally excited for it.”

Aside from Doomfist, there will be many changes for heroes and meta will inevitably change as a result. Even the alpha test phase was a proof of this approaching change, but now everyone is focused on closed beta to see how these changes will play.

For console players, they have some sort of good news too. While this imminent beta phase will only cover PC players, Jon Spector said that they are already going over some plans to include console players in future.
