The final DLC character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has been announced to be Sora from the Kingdom Hearts franchise, coming on October 18th. Also there will be three new Mii character costumes including Doom Slayer and two Splatoon costumes.

This was announced just today by Masahiro Sakurai, the director of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Sakurai also announced Sora’s alternate costumes too.

Sora has been requested by fans for too long, and finally we are seeing the dream coming true. There was also a possibility of the company-related conflict that would prevent such a collaboration between Square Enix and Disney, potentially causing Nintendo to be unable to cooperate with both. Apparently this was not the case but still there may be some limitations as no Disney characters appear in the DLC, including Donald Duck and Goofy, Sora’s partners throughout the series.

Since it was the thing for all previous DLC fighters, Sora also has her own brand-new stage with Sora: Rising Falls. The stage moves throughout Rising Falls and eventually transforms into a platform similar to the room players find themselves in at the beginning of the first Kindom Hearts game.

After the reveal of this character and its content, Sakurai also announced Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts III for Nintendo Switch. This is a first time that a mainline Kingdom Hearts game appearing on a Nintendo console. All previous titles on Nintendo were spin-offs.
