The Witcher franchise is praised as one of the greatest fantasy video game titles, with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt carrying the flag forward from previous installments on the series. On top of that, there is also a Netflix series which even amplify the fame further. With the added popularity on the small screen, the Netflix series starred by Henry Cavill has brought the charismatic and mysterious character Geralt into homes of millions and broken the barrier of video game characters becoming household names.

Both the games and series are incredible, and The Witcher doesn’t look like it is losing the hype any time soon. Now there are plans set to bring some sort of a crossover between the game and the show.

New-gen update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is being expected for some time now already, and we finally have something new coming up for the franchise. CD PROJEKT RED has tweeted that upgrade is coming during this year, and it will also be presenting fans some nice goodies from the Netflix series.

The “free DLCs” mentioned in the tweet sparks up some curiosity, but there also comes a question about it – will the free DLC be available for regular versions of the game? The tweet’s wording seems like a next-gen exclusive deal and it may obviously make some fans unhappy if that is the case.

Either way, it’s a nice touch to tie the upgraded game to the recent season of the series on Netflix, and give players some nice extras for upgrading. Next-gen The Witcher was very much expected and appreciated by the fans already, so it all comes down to a great news for the followers.
