Nintendo, Metroid 2: Return of Samus, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga ve The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap dahil olmak üzere bir dizi Game Boy ve Game Boy Advance klasik oyununun Nintendo Switch platformuna geldiğini duyurdu. Dokuz Game Boy oyunu, Nintendo Switch Online aboneliğine eklendi ve Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack aboneliği olanlar için altı tane Game Boy Advance oyunu da eklendi.
Switch’e gelen klasik oyunlar, oyuncuların isteğine bağlı olarak Game Boy, Game Boy Pocket ve Game Boy Color ekran filtrelerini içeriyor. Desteklenen Game Boy oyunları, iki oyuncuyla yerel olarak veya çevrimiçi olarak oynanabilecek. Game Boy Advance için ise bazı oyunlar, dört oyuncuya kadar yerel ve çevrimiçi çok oyuncu desteğine sahip durumda.
