2K confirms a hacking incident targeting customer data

Recent hacking incidents are getting out of hand as the next company that announced a security breach that leaked customer data has been 2K. They confirmed that hackers managed to steal personal information of customers and put it up for sale.

After noticing the breach, 2K began contacting customers whose information has been accessed. The stolen mass information includes email address, helpdesk ID number, gamertag and console details. Currently, 2K says there is no indication of financial information or passwords being compromised.

The company urges all players to reset their passwords and enable 2FA as soon as possible to avoid any potential attack. The hackers are known to send malicious links to players. For those who clicked on the links, 2K has shared some instructions in order to reinforce their devices’ security. After the discovery of the breach, 2K also took down its support portal during the investigation. Portal is now back online and safe according to the company.
