Elden Ring left a huge mark on the gaming scene when it was released during this year. The hype was real for this game and it was not a surprise considering that everything in the game was truly exceptional. The graphics, atmosphere, setting, open-world mechanics, gameplay, it was all great.
Finally, people were excited to see the competition for GOTY award between Elden Ring and God of War Ragnarok. Both games won several prizes until the big moment, but it was Elden Ring that came out on top when the GOTY award was annouced.
When Hidetaka Miyazaki and the FromSoftware team came to stage for the speech, an audience member also came to stage to join the team and grabbed the microphone, shouting out “I want to nominate this award to my orthodox Rabbi Bill Clinton”. Geoff Keighley later confirmed that the individual was arrested. It was a weird moment, but luckily did not disrupt the show in a major way.
FromSoftware also revealed Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon during the show, which is definitely worth a look.
