Lately a lot of PS games began launching on PC platform one after another, and the latest of them was God of War which was released on PC just today. While there are many interviews and speculations on the reason why Sony decided to take a step towards PC platform, Cory Barlog said that the main reason was Sony’s internal studios.
While it was mostly thought as a decision by Santa Monica studios of Sony, truth was a bit different than that according to Barlog. He said that the actual driving force during this effort was Sony’s developers across entire PlayStation Studios network.
When asked, Barlog said that he did not have any idea about if the launch of God of War on PC means that the sequel “Ragnarok” may also arrive on PC sooner or later. Currently only thing they know is that they are working on the games they are working on, and nothing else. Next steps will follow after the previous ones’ results come in. And even if things may look bright, it is still up to Sony.
God of War is the third game that came to PC as last year we saw Horizon: Zero Dawn and Days Gone taking that jump. An upcoming title is Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves. For any other surprises, we will have to wait and see for ourselves.
