Cyberpunk 2077 is still hitting new numbers after its 1.6 patch and expansion announcement. Following its player count records, now CD Projekt Red confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 has sold over 20 million copies.
Everyone knows about the background story of Cyberpunk 2077, and especially the launch that shook the entire gaming scene. After building up a very high tension until December 2020, CD Projekt Red released a seriously struggling game which led to lots of problems. They had to refund a lot of people, remove the game from PlayStation Store and much more. After those days, it is almost unbelieveable to see that the game is rising again.
To give a proper measure, Cyberpunk 2077 had 8 million pre-orders before the release date. Until the end of month, including the time after release, this number saw 13 million. Sales reached 18 million in last April after CD Projekt Red managed to “repair” the game at the end of a long journey. Finally the efforts seem to pay off and the developers are enjoying a new success especially after Patch 1.6 and Netflix series called Edgerunners. Their upcoming expansion Phantom Liberty also seems to receive a good reaction from the community.
