Causing a very serious hype ever since it was revealed, Elden Ring continues to stir up the scene with related news coming one after another. Director of the game, Hidetaka Miyazaki had a pretty remarkable success on the Souls series and this reputation understandably carries on to this new title.
Miyazaki mentioned recently that Elden Ring is quite close to be his “ideal game”. Following this brave statement, a strange one also came in. Miyazaki said that he does not play the games he created, but if he did, Elden Ring would be what he preferred to play. Here is the full statement below.
“I don’t approach it in terms of ‘this is the kind of open world game I want to make’. It’s just that the open world enriches this ideal experience I’m trying to achieve. To give some very simple examples, if I was to explore this world, I’d want a map- a proper map. Or, you know, if I saw something over there, I’d want to actually be able to go over and explore it. And I’d want to fight with a dragon in an epic arena. Things like this. It’s very simple stuff, but Elden Ring allows a lot of these things to become a reality for me, creating something that’s very close to my ideal game.”
But we have to warn you though, as these words do not directly reflect any factual information regarding how the game will be, or “how good” the game will be. People may still disagree with Miyazaki on their own personal terms when the game is released. Considering the huge disappointments throughout the gaming history, both far past and recent, it is still wise to not get hyped too much.
Elden Ring is set to release February 25, 2022 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
