Facebook Gaming mobile app is shutting down

A sad news for mobile gaming world came up today, as Facebook Gaming app for iOS and Android is unfortunately shutting down. It has been only 2 years since the app was launched, and the official notice mentions that service is shutting down on 28th of October, 2022.

Facebook attempted to compete with some huge names such as Twitch and YouTube, and brought some features like co-streaming to attract users. The platform also acquired Mixer back in 2020, which came out with some big hopes but did not manage to deliver despite featuring streamers like Ninja and Shroud.

On another note, web-based version of Facebook’s game streaming platform will stay online. It would not be accurate to say that Facebook Gaming did not have any success, as there were a lot of people using the platform very steadily. Besides, the platform had exclusive deals with DisguisedToast, Neymar Jr. and GTA roleplayer Ramee. During COVID-19 pandemic, the platform enjoyed a great success but lately all such platforms are seeing a fall in numbers more or less. Unfortunately, Facebook Gaming Mobile is leaving the scene as a result.
