After the hints in last one year period, Ubisoft finally announced its mobile game project for The Division series in an official trailer. The game is called The Division Resurgence, and will come with the same type of content as the main games. With that said, The Division Resurgence will provide a different perspective to the story alongside bringing new characters and weapons. Players will be able to enjoy both single-player and co-op modes.
Currently there is no release date given for The Division Resurgence, but Ubisoft confirmed that there will be a closed alpha test with selected players which also includes a NDA procedure. It may be a surprise for some to hear that they are actually working on this mobile project while they also work on another free-to-play game for The Division series called Heartland. But considering that mobile game business is very much profitable at its current state, this decision is actually understandable.
One of the most critical points for any current mobile game though, as we have seen a very important example recently with Diablo Immortal, is the monetization aspect. There is no information about the microtransactions, NFTs or Quartz integration for The Division Resurgence yet. Ubisoft has not provided any comments or confirmations, but it should come up soon.
