In the latest surprise leaks arriving, a new Crash Bandicoot is reported to be in development at Toys For Bob. We could even hear about it during Summer Game Fest. According to journalist Jez Corden, it is a multiplayer Crash Bandicoot that is like a four-player brawler that is Crash-oriented.
Contrary to the previous rumors, Corden says that the game is not named Wumpa League. There were a lot of rumors back in recent years about a new multiplayer Crash Bandicoot game by Toys For Bob, called Wumpa League. Some time ago, it was also mentioned by Liam Robertson from DidYouKnowGaming that there was a project called Wumpa League where players were supposed to compete in teams in order to collect items in open-ended 3D platforming levels. Robertson said that “there were a lot of rumours of them second guessing the core concept and some pretty out there things were being suggested. Then a bunch of key people from the project left the company.”
At this point, everything could happen with this new game. It may be a fully new idea, or a new game that uses some of the old ideas from the rumored project.
