Overwatch 2 gave its fans some good time with the recent beta alongside the news and reveals during the first month of Summer. If you want to experience the game more though, it seems like you will have to wait until October, when the game is planned for the official release.
Blizzard Vice President Jon Spector recently confirmed that there will not be any further Overwatch 2 beta periods until the launch. With the sad news though, knowing that only two months left for the final release at least gives players some relief. Spector also said that internal testing will continue on a daily basis.
Some players disagree with the thought that a third public beta test is not needed, since there will be a new Overwatch 2 hero revealed. Currently, players are eagerly waiting to see Junker Queen and testing it for themselves to understand if there is any extra work needed to ensure a good balance.
Besides, there are more crucial matters than a new hero. One of the biggest changes coming along is the team size, as game will become 5v5 instead of 6v6 now. This brings a lot of structural changes and balance tests.
If Blizzard is feeling okay with these changes and tests though, we can only hope that they are right. But if the launch encounters more issues that it should, one of the first things to be remembered by everyone will be such decisions that skip further test phases. Let’s hope it will not happen.
