Riot Games is working on a new 2D fighting game that is based on League of Legends. The game will be free-to-play and feature the champions from the legendary MOBA. Lately, Riot Games announced that Illaoi will also be one of the playable characters in the game.
Game was announced under the codename “Project L” back in 2019, and there is still not much known about it. This includes even a release window. But this last update that includes Illaoi shows their way of thinking, and methodology about how developers adapt a League of Legends character into a fighting game.
Game being free-to-play is not a huge surprise as Riot Games is known for making great free-to-play games and earning tons of money with their success. Late hype around MultiVersus shows that there might be hope for Project L too. Fans of fighting games seem hungry for new taste, and Project L might be the next best thing.
