Rainbow Six Siege is reverting the controversial nerf

Recently, the Designer’s Notes published for Rainbow Six Siege contained a nerf that caused a pretty quick and intense outrage. One of the operators, Smoke, was supposed to receive a nerf to his signature Remote Gas Grenade equipment. Players reacted so harsh and fast, that actually led developers to cancel this specific change.

Smoke’s gas grenade allows him to remotely detonate canisters of gas which in turn damages those who stay in the area of effect. Smoke has his own gas mask, so he is free to walk in and out of the gas without repercussions. This ability of roaming around freely in the gas was going to be taken away with the mentioned update.

While Smoke is not the first operator to lose a “hidden passive”, the reaction from the scene was obviously fierce. If you want to check the full patch notes, you can find them here.
