Respawn disables Kings Canyon to fix Apex Legends server issues

You might have noticed that Kings Canyon is suddenly removed from the Apex Legends map rotation. Reason is that Respawn announced they will disable the map to fix a serious server issue that sees players disconnecting randomly.

There was a small update added on Monday, similar to many others that just contain skins and content for future events. But players immediately started having serious server problems after the new update was deployed. The game was crashing randomly, usually with the “code:net” or “code:leaf” error messages, and sending the players from games back to the main menu.

Respawn announced that they were aware of the issue. It looks like the developer has narrowed down the problem to Kings Canyon map and therefore are taking the map out of rotation to fix the issue.

Season 12 launch was not as smooth as the recent seasons 10 and 11. The game had serious frame rate issues, especially bad for console players. Now, the game apparently can’t go more than a few matches in a row without crashing if players are lucky.

Currently there is not a confirmed date for the fix, and issues are appearing at a slighter rate than the initial period.
