A recent announement from Geoff Keighley confirmed that The Game Awards will have a live audience for the first time since 2019. Due to COVID-19, the shows were performed online in last few years. At those events, Geoff Keighley presented the reveals and awards from a soundstage in Los Angeles and music was performed remotely from Tokyo and London.
Keighley mentioned that tickets for the audience will be available on 1st of November, as the event will be performed in front of a live audience at the Microsoft Theater on December 8th. Since California and Los Angeles lifted the Covid-related requirements for indoor events, attendees will not have to provide any specific proof. Still though, organizer requested anyone not feeling well to stay home.
Currently there is no information about presenters, musical performances or studio attendees. After E3 2023, The Game Awards is becoming the next event to return to a live audience. Looks like gaming shows are finally returning to normal after three sad years.
