Around the end of 2021, Nintendo announced that the Kingdom Hearts Trilogy was actually coming to the Nintendo Switch, but with a catch – they were going to be cloud streaming titles only. Now after several weeks, Square Enix has finally announced that Kingdom Hearts – HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMix, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue and Kingdom Hearts III will be arriving to Switch via cloud on February 10th for a price tag of $90, which will be $72 on pre-order for those who are determined already.

This means that players will have the entire series available so far, covering the entirety of Sora’s journey. The series is one of Square Enix’s best-selling products of all time.

Since this is a cloud version, you’ll need a properly working and fast internet connection to have an enjoyable experience on the title. As much as a cloud release sounds reasonable for the latest chapter first released on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, it is a bit of curiosity about why the first two games are not remade to run on the Switch itself. Especially considering the fact that it can run Witcher 3 and the Assassin’s Creed collection, which are expected to arrive on 18th of February.

Some good news about this expected release is that if you buy the the all-in-one collection or individual Kingdom Hearts III version, you’ll also receive the Advent Red Keyblade for the Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind (DLC), as confirmed by Square Enix recently. There will also be a Kingdom Hearts 20th anniversary event in Tokyo that includes a mini concert, Q&A with the development team, an exhibition and some more surprises to come.
