An interesting idea of a soulslike, Steelrising, is adopting the story of French Revolution. Taking place in an alternate timeline where King Louis XVI thwarts the revolution with an army of robot automatons, in Steelrising you will fight your way through the ruins of Paris in the ceramic body of Aegis, an android created by one of King Louis’ engineers.
This strange but equally interesting title, being developed by Spiders, already released a short gameplay trailer last year. After some time, now we are getting to see a deeper part of the game. This time, Steelrising’s systems and locations are revealed a bit more. There are also some in-game weapons too, so it is not just some sightseeing content.
Moving on, we are seeing the platforming skills and some outfits our character can use. Needless to say, fashion of late eighteenth century France looks pretty neat. But to our surprise, this 5-minute long trailer is quite raw compared to previous year’s flashy trailer. While it may sound kind of negative at first, it is actually much better than an extremely polished and almost unrealistic content that skyrockets the expectations, only to plummet down to zero once the game is released.
Steelrising is announced to be released on 8th of September, so we have some time before us to see how the will unfold.
