Venetica is free for a limited time as part of GOG Summer Sale

A German game studio, Deck13, released a third-person RPG called Venetica back in 2009 where you play as “Death’s daughter”. The game had relatively janky and shallow combat system, but some players loved this game due to its authentic Renaissance setting and unique lockpicking system. During lockpicking, there were ghosts of two thieves to tell you the order of picking the lock. It was a really original idea, to be fair.

GOG is now running a Summer Sale, and there you can get Venetica – Gold Edition for free until 6am PST/2pm BST on Sunday, June 12. The pack also has some extra content like a making of video, the soundtrack in mp3 format, the manual and an artbook (though the artbook is in German), and something labeled “Venice”. Considering that this last one is 143MB, it is probably a video tour for the city.
