The remaster of the critically acclaimed Alan Wake is less than a month away. The game is going to be released on every major platform on October 5. Console owners can purchase the game and enjoy it as they want, but PC players need to check their hardware before even buying it. You can check out the trailer that was released a few days ago during the PS Showcase Event below:
The game is being published by Epic Games. So there’s no surprise that the PC version is exclusive on Epic Games Store. Its store page is already up and running. You can pre-order it for only $29.99 from Epic Games Store. However, before you do that, be sure to check out the PC system requirements.
The developer of the game, Remedy Entertainment, has revealed the official requirements and as expected they are not too high. If you upgraded your PC in the last five to six years, then you should be fine and get going.
The game will only run on Windows 10 64-bit. If you are a Windows 7 or 8 user, don’t even try to play it as the game won’t even start. But the developer, however, hasn’t mentioned how much free storage space you will require yet.
To run the game in minimum settings, you will need an Intel i5-3340 paired with Nvidia GeForce GTX 960. For memory, the game requires 2 GB of VRAM and 8 GB of RAM.
For higher settings, you will need Intel i7-3770 or its AMD equivalent, paired with Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060. The memory requirements are doubled.
Minimum Requirements
- CPU: i5-3340 or equivalent
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 or AMD equivalent with 2 GB VRAM
- RAM: 8 GB or higher
Recommended Requirements
- CPU: i7-3770 or equivalent
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD equivalent with 4 GB VRAM
- RAM: 16 GB
Alan Wake Remastered will be released on PlayStation consoles as well. This is the first time PS players will enjoy Alan Wake, as the original game was an Xbox 360 console exclusive.
