Respawn Entertainment has recently confirmed that the next-gen update for Apex Legends will be available tomorrow. This update will allow the game to run in native 4K resolution on the Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5 while HDR is being used for output. Future plans also include additional features such as Adaptive Triggers and Haptics for the PlayStation 5. On launch day of the update, there will be HDR, Higher Resolution Shadow Maps, 4K output and full 60hz gameplay on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Respawn Entertainment developers also mentioned that a 120Hz gameplay update will be coming to Apex Legends on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This update and future updates will require players to have tomorrow’s update installed.
The Warriors Collection update is bringing back the limited-time 9v9 Control mode for two weeks. Caustic Treatment on Kings Canyon has been added to the fight. Caustic Treatment has been converted into a three-point battleground and seems to be a fan-favorite Control map in Apex Legends. Additional cover, ziplines, skydive launchers, and a hover tank is now included in the place.
A brand-new map Drop-Off is the fully automated Hammon Manufacturing Tower. The place is codenamed Drop-Off, and still operational, but during night time Arenas fighters are taking the place for fierce matches. The new map has a lot of cool points of interest like the Observation Deck, offering players a high vantage point, access to an airdrop and protection from deadly long-range guns.
The event also brings a brand new set of 24 themed, limited-time cosmetics including the likes of “Synthetic Huntress” Ash Skin, “Riding Dirty” Octane Skin, “Jewel Olympus” Horizon Skin, and “Combat Survivalist” Lifeline.
