CDPR released a guide for save file transfers from Stadia

Google Stadia shutdown caught a lot of players off-guard, even some developers. A lot of gamers asked the same question when the news hit: “Will I lose all my progress?” Most studios tried to find their way to carry the player progress to other platforms, and today CD Projekt Red also revealed how people can transfer their Cyberpunk 2077 save files to PC and console.

The company has published a guide which is safe to follow for transferring the save files. The method uses Google Takeout to make the transition to PC as an initial step. Then it will be possible to use cross-progression system and sync the save with a GOG account to take the second step towards consoles, if needed.

Google announced the shutdown decision last week, as the service could not gain enough traction with players at an acceptable rate. As a result, Google will be refunding all Stadia-related hardware and software purchases. Players will have access to their library and play their games until 18th of January, 2023.
