Escape From Tarkov from Battlestate Games had made its mark as a greatly realistic and hardcore shooter since few years, and it is one of those games that truly deserve a long early access state. The vision of developers is truly intense, and they are doing everything possible to carry it into the game in a successful and seamless way.
The big updates are coming from time to time, while many minor updates are coming every now and then. Today, we are sharing the list of major changes to come with next big shot. Nikita has shared the details on a short podcast a couple days ago.
One of the most thrilling news of this podcast was the Arena mode, especially when it is confirmed that the expected release time is around the end of 2022. A prototype version is already there, and now the team is working on a fully developed standalone deathmatch mode.
Another update is from the new map Lighthouse. There will be an expansion to connect the Lighthouse and the mainland together, alongside a new trader for the map. This new trader will be seriously difficult to access, and there will be new bosses and guards to protect him.
A surprise update is coming for the crafting system. Some tools will be marked as “instruments”, and they will return to the stash once crafting is done. They will be used more than once, as it was actually a bit weird to trash a whole electric drill or screwdriver after just a simple craft process. Since the consumption will be much lesser than before, their availability will be adjusted accordingly, meaning price will also probably quite high. Prepare for “tool hunting” next wipe.
Speaking of crafting, repairing items is a similar process that needed some love. Now players will be able to obtain repair kits for weapons and armors. There will be associated skills for using these, and they will have a nice efficiency to repair your gear.
Last but not least, we are seeing two new weapons. One is a revolver, Chiappa Rhino 50DS. This is a modern revolver that uses only 1×1 stash size, so this will be very easy to loot and carry. Second weapon is Flare Gun, and yes you guessed that right – you will be calling airdrops. But when you think of how cruel things can get in Escape From Tarkov, this might not be the best idea at all despite the great rewards of an airdrop.
This was the most important updates from the recent podcast for Escape From Tarkov. Nikita did not provide any answers about their stance regarding the war in Ukraine, but he promised to come back with a longer podcast in future to answer fans’ questions.
