Lately we are seeing great PlayStation games coming one after another, but sales were not really reflecting a parallel spike in sales. This was usually caused by the lack of hardware stocks that would allow people to buy the games in the first place, as there were not enough people who could enjoy them due to not having a PlayStation 5.
With the new batch of consoles and Easter sales arriving together, sales of those new titles like Gran Turismo 7 and Horizon Forbidden West suddenly jumped up. Even though it was not enough for them to overtake LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga on the top, numbers are still encouraging for developers.
Gran Turismo 7 posted a 163% spike in sales, pushing the game up by five places to the second place on the list. Just behind it is Horizon Forbidden West at third place, which jumped 11 places after a 307% increase in sales. There are some other games that enjoyed a push in the rankings due to the same reasons like Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Ghostwire: Tokyo and Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut.
It was not all sunshine and rainbows for the games though, as some of the recent big launches began to lose their pace. Elden Ring, WWE 2K22 and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands suffered slight losses in numbers and fell back on the list. It’s worth noting that these three games racked better numbers via PSN and Xbox Live, and that data is not available immediately. Once available, we will see a clearer picture.
