Sony has recently released a firmware update for Playstation 4 and Playstation 5, presenting the users new features. To begin with, Sony has improved voice chats for both platforms. Sony also added some accessibility features for PlayStation 5. For future updates, Sony has stated that there will be a new feature to come for PS5.
Both platforms are going to be enjoying a better chat system. Players will be able to create or join open parties. This also means that there will be closed parties too, where players can join only via invite. Game Base for PlayStation 5 is now divided into three sections as Friends, Parties and Messages. As a quality-of-life improvement, players can Start Share Play directly in the voice chat.
There are fixes about accessibility features too. The fixes cover languages, voice commands, and headphones. To extend the accessibility support, six more languages are added to the list: Russian, Arabic, Dutch, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish and Korean. On top of that, PlayStation 5 also received Ukrainian language support. There are some more minor improvements under the accessibility category.
Last but not least, Sony promised a requested feature is coming in future updates: Variable Refresh Rate (VRR).
