Riot Games is continuing its acquisitions of new studios to accelerate and support their development of live games. This time, they have acquired the Australian studio Wargaming Sydney.
Wargaming is also a big brand on its own, and they are responsible for developing games like World of Tanks, World of Warships and more. The studio Wargaming Sydney was founded in 2002 under the name of BigWorld Technology, and they were especially known for their BigWorld toolset creation which is used in over 30 games. Wargaming acquired the studio in 2012 and then worked on the games mentioned above. Now the studio will be renamed as Riot Sydney.
Number of developers that are currently working under this studio is not precisely known at the moment, but expectations are over 100. This acquisition is clearly important for Riot as they are enlarging their portfolio of games.
