A legendary franchise in fighting genre, Tekken has introduced many people to the scene over the years. Most fighting game fans have been watching EVO 2022 event during last few days, and there were many surprises besides the great matches played.
A very brief teaser video came up during the event, and it was considered a hint for the new Tekken game. In the clip, we first see the original ending when Kazuya drops Heiachi off a cliff for his revenge. Then, at the ending, Kazuya’s smile suddenly replaces with a “modern” render through a static transition and the clip ends with the message “GET READY”.
It was not the first sign of Tekken, as it also appeared in last year’s Nvidia leak. With this recent official teaser, even if not fully confirmed yet, we might consider it a step closer to the unannounced games found back in the leak.
Back in 2017, developers were asked if Tekken 7 would be a live-service game or would they continue with Tekken 8. The answer had a loose end, mentioning that it would mostly depend on what the community wanted at the time. Apparently we will be seeing it very soon.
