The Callisto Protocol is still going strong with its hype, and it is expected to be a truly magnificent title among horror games once it comes out. Its trailers were enough to send chills down the spines of most people, and now we understand why it was so succesful.
If you are creating a piece of art of extreme content, then you should be prepared to go that extra mile to truly feel and understand it regardless of how much it disturbs you. Developers in Striking Distance Studios followed this mindset and actually studies real-life horror and gore to bring their best into their upcoming game The Callisto Protocol.
Chris Stone, chief creative officer at Striking Distance Studios and formerly animation director on Dead Space, says that “We’ve found ourselves looking at a lot of real-life examples of horror and gore. While these were a lot less fun to research, it was some of the most memorable and valuable content when it came to creating realistic visuals and experiences.” A great example of dedication and respect for the work.
Stone also said that they had a lot of ideas for Dead Space back in the day, but they were unable to make them happen due to hardware limitations. Now they are looking forward to bringing it to our screens, so we should really brace ourselves.
