The Last of Us Part 2 gets a PlayStation 5 patch

The Last of Us Part 2 is yet to have a dedicated PlayStation 5 release, but this doesnt mean that the game wont be adapted to next gen consoles. Thanks to the latest update, the game will now target 60 FPS if the player decides to select the option to do so. The developer company Naughty Dog also teased that this isn’t the last thing we’ll see for the PlayStation 5 version.

A trailer was released alongside the announcement. Announcements main focus is the 60 FPS setting, but some other features like advanced resolutions and quicker load times are also mentioned.

Naughty Dog’s Arne Meyer, the director of communication, said:

“Once patch 1.08 for The Last of Us Part 2 is installed on your PlayStation 5, you will find a toggle in the Display options that allows you to choose between a Framerate Target of 30 FPS or 60 FPS. The team has been digging into the PlayStation 5 hardware and the possibilities it unlocks since launch last year and we’re excited about what the future holds! This patch is just the first step of working on the PlayStation 5. We’ll let you know when we’ve got more news to share!”
