Call of Duty cheaters are facing a new threat of being “blind”

Cheating is an ever-growing problem in most competitive fields, and video games are surely no exception to this. Especially the competitive games are being ruined by cheaters all the time. With all the cheats going around, developers are also coming up with new ways to mitigate this.

Recently, some Call of Duty: Vanguard players noticed that when they attempt to use cheats, they are being “blinded” and “deafened” against the enemies. This is called Cloaking, and is a recent addition to Ricochet’s arsenal for battling cheaters. Ricochet is the anti-cheat system for Call of Duty, and they actually mentioned this method in a recent blog post.

When Cloaking is active, cheaters can not see their enemies, or hear them. But legitimate players are still seeing the cheaters and can easily kill them while the big bad cheater spins around, screaming “who is shooting me”. That is a great way to return the favor indeed.

Cloaking is not the only method for Ricochet though. There are other methods like Damage Shield, which removes a cheater’s ability to inflict critical hits. This also makes it pretty hard for cheaters to kill someone while they are all vulnerable to critical hits. Hopefully we will see more funny methods in future.
