Back 4 Blood announced Children of the Worm

Turtle Rock Studios is still going strong with their work on Back 4 Blood, despite there are many players out there who insist on claiming that Left 4 Dead 2 was much better. With recent news though, this might seriously change. Turtle Rock Studios announced the second expansion, Children of the Worm, is on its way and pretty close for a release at the end of August.

Now the game has already left the launch issues behind, went through a good amount of changes and improvements at the first expansion pack release, while still having small fixes every now and then. People asked for certain features like solo offline play, ability to detach and swap gun attachments, a better difficulty scale and they are all delivered nicely. As much as the criticism during the launch period was more understandable than it is not, this time we are inclined to go in favor of Turtle Rock Studios after seeing how far they have come in such short time.

Let’s start with the simple details. Children of the Worm will bring us 8 exclusive character skins, 12 exclusive weapon skins, some new weapons, accessories and cards. Some of them were actually teased by Turtle Rock Studios in their Tweets in recent weeks.

Even better, if one of the players in the party have purchased the Children of the Worm expansion, everyone will be able to enjoy the content in the party. Now that is truly generous. Speaking of purchasing the expansion, it will be already free for those who bought Ultimate Edition, Deluxe Edition or the Annual Pass.

The expansion is going to bring us the Act 5, which is themed around a cult going rampant in the same lands we used to clean up. This cult will bring us both a new enemy threat that is some humans with guns just like our crew, and a new Cleaner called Prophet Dan. This new Cleaner has a very uncanny resemblance with the Father Grigori from Half-Life 2, and we could only hope that he will also be as crazy as Grigori himself.

If you are eager to get some new zombie action with Back 4 Blood, remember that the expansion will be released on 30th of August. Until then, make sure to check the teaser Tweets from Turtle Rock Studios, and get some warmup rounds with the current content.
