Call of Duty fans are quite excited this year since the announcements of Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2. A lot of content is coming right up with these titles, and Modern Warfare 2 already has a release date of 28th of October. Warzone 2 on the other hand, does not have any. But today we have some different news about Warzone 2 so bear with us.
Weeks ago, there were some rumors about a new mode called DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) which is inspired by the extraction-themed hardcore FPS game Escape From Tarkov. With the well-earned fame of this extremely realistic shooter game from Battlestate Games, more companies actually took notice of what could be done further with such a new taste.
Today, Warzone 2 classification brought us some hints with its classification. In the ESRB page of Call of Duty: Warzone 2, the text includes DMZ as one of the various combat events appearing in the game. On the contrary, Modern Warfare 2 classification does not have anything related to DMZ mode so it is an interesting sign that Warzone 2 will be bringing us this new mode.
This is interesting because previously Tom Henderson and an LA Rams football player made two independent remarks about the possiblility of DMZ mode coming with Modern Warfare 2 instead of Warzone 2. Activision has not announced the official details for DMZ yet, though a seemingly leaked internal document from Activision mentioned 16th of November for launch.
