A recent bug in Halo Infinite caused players to use 1GB data per hour on average. 343 Industries quickly patched it with an update.
This bug was found on 21st of July by a Twitter user called Neeko, and many other players were quick to recognize and confirm it on their own findings. Situation was immediately acknowledged by 343 Industries and they came back with a fix that properly regulates the data usage in the game. How long did this problem exist for is not known though.
This initial fix is not the full solution though, and 343 Industries stated that they are working to find a permanent solution for this problem. Currently they have resolved it with what they called a “backend solution”. At least people who were constantly losing frames and connection quality can enjoy the game much better.
If you have been seeing lags and frame drops during the game, this update may solve your problems or at least relieve it up to a certain extent.
