Call of Duty: Vanguard did not have a great launch as expected, but players are still somehow there. One of the reasons could be the frequent content updates, fourth of which we see with the Mercenaries of Fortune. The update will bring a new map, new weapons, new mods and the Terminator as a Warzone operator.
New map of this update, Desolation, was a secret so far. Recently a blog post for Call of Duty: Vanguard revealed details for this new map so players can have a better idea about what to expect.
This map is located on an island setting with a village on a side of a mountain, scrambled streets and ruins of buildings around. Sounds true to its name, it is not a huge map but not very small either. Players will see a lot of angles, covers and constructs that allow tactical plays while encouraging fast-paced close quarters combat. Long-ranged fighters will also have some opportunities, but it may take a while to perfect the strategy for sniping enemies.
Blog post also mentions some potential strategies for different playstyles. Shotgun users will be able to use the angles and covers in the village, or prefer climbing routes to stay mobile to catch good opportunities. For players who prefer sniping, map will have some corridor-like spots on the sides besides the higher grounds at various places. Ruins are a good place for defenders and players may take advantage of it nicely.
Long story short, there will be a lot of new content of all sorts for everyone to enjoy and try. With the variety coming all around, players will have some great time before looking forward to seeing the next update. Map will be live on 27th of July, so get ready for some fresh action.
