Phil Spencer, Executive Vice President of Gaming at Microsoft, revealed new updates about Fable on a recent on Dropped Frames podcast.
Last year in 2020, Microsoft announced a new Fable game and informed that it is being developed. We were expecting to see news from it this year in E3 but sadly there wasn’t anything. However Phil Spencer from Xbox updated curious fans about game’s current development state. As VGC reports, Phil Spencer talked on Dropped Frames broadcast and said that fans should “take confidence” from Playgrounds’ experience with the Forza franchise.
“The only thing I can really say about Fable is, seeing the pedigree of the team and Playground, and where they set the bar for themselves in building a game—I think that showed with the Forza Horizon 5 preview that they had—I think people should just take confidence in Gavin that (Gavin Raeburn is the Studio Director of Playground Games) and the team there have that same level of focus on doing something amazing with an IP that we know is really important to a lot of Xbox fans, so we can’t wait to get to show more, but the team is just amazing.”
As VGC suggests, plenty of video game veterans are currently working on this Fable project. There was no name drop but it is said that team is including developers from Rocksteady, Ninja Theory, Gearbox and BioWare.
It has been a long time since the game has been announced back in 2020. I believe the game should have reached a vertical slice point and we can expect to hear and see more from Fable soon.
