The day begins with another huge news for upcoming Gamescom show. PlayStation officially confirmed that it will not be attending Gamescom 2022. After Nintendo and Activision Blizzard, PlayStation became the third giant to stay out of this year’s event. This means that we should not be expecting news for God of War Ragnarok, Forspoken, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and PSVR 2.

Even if this is sad news for the PlayStation part, there are still hundreds of exhibitors, around 250 of them to be more precise. There are still big names in the event like Bandai Namco, THQ Nordic, and Koch Media. Xbox is still counted in, but there is no information about how much capacity it will have.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, Gamescom 2022 will be the first live in-person event. Besides the live show, there will also be an “extensive digital program” too. Currently the contents of this digital program are not revealed but Geoff Keighley’s Gamescom: Opening Night Live will probably be a huge show.
