Most players are already quite familiar with the weird series of delays for this game, because Skull and Bones is being delayed by Ubisoft since several years. Latest delay came during late 2022, when the game was supposed to come out on 8th of November. That delay drove the release date to 9th of March. Now, Ubisoft is going through some really tough times which force them to rearrange their future plans and even cancel multiple unannounced games.
With such issues, Ubisoft delayed the game to the early phases of 2023-2024 fiscal year which starts on 1st of April. They are also buying some more time to improve the game and polish it as good as possible. Besides, they have to remind people that the game still exists anyway, and announcing delays is one way of doing it.
