Valve is testing a new mobile app for Steam, and it looks interesting to say the least. Considering that its interface is quite old now, it is really a good time for a change.
In a blog post Valve shared, they have explained why they are renewing the mobile app and why they are running the beta phase, asking for feedback and how people can participate. While the iOS beta is limited to 10000 people only, users can still check the information running around and provide some feedback.
New app will have features similar to the old one. You will have Store, Steam Guard, Library, News etc. as you had them before. Besides these standard sections, there will be things like QR code sign-in option, smarter notifications, multi-account support too.
For now, it might be a bit early to speak about how good or bad will this new app be, but it is very unlikely for Valve to miss its mark with such a deep effort going on. Once the time is near for the launch, it will be much easier to speak about it.
