The Callisto Protocol is counting down months to its release, and developers are sharing some sweet trailers to demonstrate how far they have come to bring us a potentially great game. With such successfully planned showcases, people are getting more hyped as the time of release closes in.
This time they shared a less gory image that shows us one of the enemies we will encounter. Previously, it was actually teased in a video where we watched a few scenes in the Black Iron Prison. Back in that scene, there was a guardian robot who was blowing up inmates’ heads indiscriminately with its cannon. Today we are seeing a much clearer image of that robot, and it may actually be a more threatening adversary than some of the mutants.
They shared this image from The Callisto Protocol on Twitter, writing a caption that says “Safety isn’t guaranteed.” We are seeing Lee having a face-to-face moment with that robot, and it does not look very safe indeed.
Currently, the general stance of robots and the relationship between them and Lee are not known. There are also questions about the possible ineffectiveness of some weapons against those robots if it comes to a combat situation. They look strong and intimidating, and melee combat will probably not be an option at all. Some people are thinking of the possibilities like kiting biophages and those robots to pit them against each other while players may flee from the scene. In any way, those robots will probably contribute nicely to the atmosphere of The Callisto Protocol.
