Voice chat is returning to Rocket League after months

Voice chat feature is usually a default one in today’s online games as teamwork is mostly a crucial part of games. Especially competitive games are very much based on a solid teamwork for players to succeed. Rocket League is one of the best competitive games of last decade, and it is a game that requires pinpoint coordination between players if you want a victory.

Back in September 2021, Psyonix removed the voice chat feature from the game. Ever since, players were heavily asking for this feature to return. Finally their prayers are answered, and Psyonix shared a tweet that provided a link to a detailed explanation.

The explanation is bringing great news for players who wanted voice chat feature back. They also explain the current state of voice chat and how it will work. You will have options such as Party Chat that stays constantly active with the party you form with other players, Team Chat that will keep you in contact with your current team until the game ends, or mute players who are “not worth hearing”. It is a multiplayer game after all, and there will always be some people who do not use their microphones properly.

Psyonix previously said that the voice chat system was not up to modern standards before they removed it, so we will see if it works well now.
