Nowadays we are hearing a lot of news from the upcoming sci-fi horror title The Callisto Protocol. With new design approaches being unveiled, people are getting even more excited to be scared to death. Today’s news is about the approach towards combat, as it was mentioned that The Callisto Protocol will have its combat equally balanced between melee and ranged combat.
Source of this information is the design director Ben Walker, so this is not just some rumors but the actual official confirmation. Walker says that they are intending to make players feel a struggle for survival rather than putting them into just plain aggressive combat situations. In order to do that, they are also adjusting the availability of ammunition for ranged combat towards a level that will keep players thinking twice before shooting.
To make melee combat more satisfying, Walker also said that they are trying to bring out the best of PS5 DualSense feature. He goes as far to say that players will feel even the breaking bones of enemies. Totally gruesome.
