As mentioned yesterday, Fall Guys made its transition to fully free-to-play model and became an Epic Games Store exclusive. This move also meant delisting from Steam, but it seems like this change was a miraculous push for the game. Game servers struggled quite hard after Mediatonic proceeded with their plans.

But even in this tough situation, developer made a full fun story about how the servers are struggling. This is one of the reason for people to love Fall Guys, because the game is so casual and fun that even such issues are being a part of that fun. At some point, developers disabled the custom lobbies section so it would be easier for them to work on the problems. In the meanwhile, the social media team did not just stay idle and sent another tweet saying “there may be some teething issues whilst all bajillion of you try to play at once.” Like, does Mediatonic ever be serious about anything? We don’t think so, but we don’t complain either.

Lastly, there was a problem with some items in the in-game store, causing it to be temporarily taken down too. Eventually, the issues were resolved and the game servers were fully functional again. Considering that the player count suddenly surpassed all expectations, it was a thing you could predict but probably could not prevent.
